Ask anyone that knows me, I am not a good cook. At. All. I tend to forget the water is boiling or to turn the stove on. I've burnt garlic bread to where it looked like hockey pucks! I put them outside to cool off and finish "smoking", when I went back out, our neighbor put a fire distinguisher next to the pan!! I've made mac-n-cheese into a over cooked orange mess, chicken into a dried chewy bland...thing. Lets just put it this way, I can't cook. Until I got the INSTANT POT PRESSURE COOKER!! With this thing I feel like Chef Ramsey, well without all the swearing, ok a little swearing (I'm not good at knife work). Here's what I have cooked:
- homemade applesauce (in 3 minutes)
- spaghetti squash (under 20 minutes)
- risotto (13 minutes)
- FROZEN chicken breasts (20 minutes)
- sweet potatoes
- chicken and rice dish
And a lot more!!
Going to be cooking
- honey ham
- ribs
- brisket
- meatloaf
You can even make yogurt if your brave enough, I am not yet!
I seriously can not get enough of it, even my husband and picky kid love it. I use it several times a week and I use it to prep lunches for my husband and I for the week.
You can not go wrong, if you're like me and forget stuff in the oven or on the stove, this is perfect and you get everything ready inside, lock the lid, set timer and walk away! A timer will let you know when it's done and then will automatically go into a warming mode until you turn it off!
The Instant Pot comes in 3 different pot sizes, 5qt, 6qt, and 8qt. I got the 6qt and it was more than big enough for a family of 3, with a 14 son who eats for several people! My sister got the 8qt for her family of 4 and said she could of gotten the 6qt and it would of been big enough. The Instant Pot has 2 pressure settings, high and low. It has 8 auto settings, 9 including the yogurt setting. It comes with 2 utensils, a rack with handles, and a measure cup, which I have found useful
